It is a term coined by our company. In a nutshell, it refers to a wide range of know-how in creating science and technology software. There may already be something very similar, but as of June 22, 2004, when I applied to the Google search engine (Japanese site), “Science Software Engineering” and “Science Software Engineering” did not get any hits.
There is “Computer Science Software Engineering”. The wording is subtle, but it’s completely different from this. At the end of the introduction column of our company in the New Spring 2007 issue of the “Production and Technology” magazine of the Osaka University Technical Research Association, Japan Association for the Promotion of Production Technology, we have written about “Science Software Engineering” in detail. (If you can not view it, please see here(Japanese). )
